Sweet and Spicy Sesame Chicken

Ingredients
Chicken marinade
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp dry sherry
- ⅛ tsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp flour
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp water
- ¼ tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp canola oil
- 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast, cut into 1 inch cubes
Sauce
- ½ cup water
- 1 cup chicken broth
- ¼ cup white vinegar
- ¼ cup cornstarch
- 1 cup white sugar
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp red chili paste
- 1 tsp minced garlic
Directions
- Combine components for marinade in bowl and mix well. Stir in chicken, cover and refrigerate for 20 minutes
- Combine sauce ingredients in a small sauce pan. Bring to a boil, constantly stirring. Turn heat to low and keep warm, occasionally stirring
- Fry marinated chicken in batches until cooked through and golden brown, 3-5 minutes. Drain on paper towel on a plate
- Transfer chicken to a bowl and add sauce, Mix together well. Serve on its own or over steamed rice. Top with toasted sesame seeds
