This cookie is especially tasty at Christmas time; sugar coating makes the cookies sparkle
Ingredients
- ¾ cup shortening (melted & cooled)
- 1 cup white sugar (plus sugar to coat the cookies)
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup molasses
- 2 tsp soda
- 2 cup flour
- ½ tsp cloves
- ½ tsp ginger
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp salt
Directions
- Add sugar, egg & molasses to the melted & cooled shortening; beat slightly
- In another bowl, mix together soda, flour, cloves, ginger, cinnamon & salt; add to the first mixture
- Roll into balls & then roll in white sugar
- Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes
