Don’t just keep going and expect it will get better. That’s why I paint – because I can create the kind of world I want – and I can make this world as happy as I want it.

You want your tree to have some character. Make it special. This painting comes right out of your heart. It’s a good way of getting rid of all your anxieties and hostilities. You are only limited by your imagination. We don’t have to be concerned about it. We just have to let it fall where it will. In your world you have total and absolute power.

Have fun with it. Maybe there’s a happy little Evergreen that lives here. La- da- da- da- dah. Just be happy.

By now you should be quite happy about what’s happening here. What the devil. A thin paint will stick to a thick paint. A little happy sunlight shining through there.

Pretend you’re water. Just floating without any effort. Having a good day. I’m gonna start with a little Alizarin crimson and a touch of Prussian blue Let’s make a nice big leafy tree.

Just relax and let it flow. That easy. Let’s put some happy trees and bushes back in here. Just think about these things in your mind – then bring them into your world.
